This year we are celebrating our 30th anniversary since our establishment as a subsidiary in North America.  HTC was established in 1988 by Swiss-based HEULE Werkzeug AG and was first located in West Plymouth, MI. Our first customers in the U.S. were General Motors-Hydromatic and Caterpillar.

Moving to the Cincinnati area in 1993, HTC continued to increase sales of our automated deburring, chamfering, countersinking, and spotfacing tools in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico in the automotive manufacturing industry. We broke into the aerospace market in 1994 and now sell over 6500 tools each year to major aircraft manufacturers. In addition to automotive and aerospace, HEULE tools are used in the medical, heavy construction, defense, and energy industries.

“Our customers in North America appreciate the high-quality product that the Swiss make,” said HTC President Gary Brown, speaking at the 30th Anniversary Open House. Brown, who has been leading HTC for 29 of the 30 years, thanked HEULE Werkzeug AG CEO Ulf Heule and recognized Ulf’s father, Heinrich, who invented the first automated deburring tool in 1961 and launched the company. “We couldn’t be here without you,” Brown said.

Ulf Heule, along with Christoph Keel, sales liaison for HEULE Werkzeug AG, traveled to Loveland from Switzerland to attend the event. Ulf Heule thanked HTC employees for their hard work in making HEULE successful in North America. “Today HTC is an important part of the HEULE group,” he said.  HEULE Werkzeug AG also supports subsidiaries in Germany, China, and South Korea.

Many of our local sales agents, distributors, customers, government officials, business partners, friends and family attended the open house and pig roast, where we toasted to HTC’s success. Ulf Heule and Gary Brown also planted a tree on the grounds of HTC to commemorate 30 years of growth in North America.
